Engineer Saja AlBayati welcomed the Governor of Salahuddin during his field visit to Bastamli Village in Amerli District, where discussions focused on the village’s conditions, reconstruction efforts, and compensation for affected residents.

Engineer Saja AlBayati, President of Hala Sustainable Development Organization, welcomed the Governor of Salahuddin, Mr., to Bastamli Village in Amerli District as part of a field visit aimed at reviewing the village’s current conditions and following up on reconstruction and compensation efforts for affected residents.

The visit was attended by Salahuddin Provincial Council Member Mr. Atif Al-Najjar, the Commander of East Salahuddin Operations, and several directors of governmental departments. The delegation conducted a field tour to assess the deteriorating conditions and damaged infrastructure resulting from previous terrorist attacks in the area.

The delegation began its visit at Al-Makarem Secondary School, one of the region’s long-established educational institutions dating back to the mid-1960s. During the visit, the governor expressed his concern over the severe destruction suffered by Bastamli Village due to terrorism, noting that the percentage of returning residents does not exceed 2%, highlighting the urgent need for greater governmental efforts to restore life to the village.

During a meeting held at the local health center, which had been established through community efforts by local residents, Engineer Saja AlBayati presented a detailed briefing on the current situation of the village and its most urgent needs, particularly the challenges facing returning families regarding essential services and compensation procedures.

The governor emphasized his commitment to personally following up on the compensation file to ensure the rights of affected residents, stressing that the return of displaced families largely depends on receiving compensation and restoring basic services.

At the conclusion of the visit, the Governor of Salahuddin announced a package of urgent service measures, including the construction of a new school, the reopening and rehabilitation of the local police station, the rehabilitation of electricity and water networks, and the preparation of a comprehensive report on the village’s needs for follow-up with the relevant ministries and authorities.

The visit also included the inauguration of a vital bridge connecting Bastamli and Bir Ahmed villages, which was constructed by the Engineering Effort of the East Salahuddin Operations Command to facilitate transportation and support infrastructure and public services in the area.
