Hala Sustainable Development Organization Participates in the Iraqi Women Forum to Promote Women’s Role in Society and Entrepreneurship
Hala Sustainable Development Organization participated in the Iraqi Women and Civil Society Forum – Leadership and Impact, held under the slogan “Towards a Sustainable and Innovative Future,” with the participation of more than 50 civil society organizations focused on women’s empowerment and sustainable development.
Hala Sustainable Development Organization participated in the Iraqi Women and Civil Society Forum – Leadership and Impact, which was held under the slogan “Towards a Sustainable and Innovative Future,” in cooperation with the Advisor to the Prime Minister for Civil Society Organizations Affairs, Ms. Sara Alawi.
The forum brought together more than 50 civil society organizations specializing in women’s issues and sustainable development, aiming to strengthen the role of Iraqi women and empower them across various social, economic, and developmental fields.
Second Session: Highlighting the Fight Against Violence and Cyber Extortion Against Women
As part of the forum activities, Engineer Saja AlBayati, President of Hala Sustainable Development Organization, moderated the second session, which discussed the role of civil society organizations in combating violence and cyber extortion against women, in addition to exploring ways to empower women in entrepreneurship and enhance their economic participation.
The Role of Civil Society in Women Empowerment
During the forum, Advisor Sara Alawi emphasized the importance of supporting civil society organizations as genuine partners in empowering women. She stressed the need to create a supportive environment that encourages women to actively participate in all sectors, including leadership and political decision-making. She also called for motivating young women to engage in community and entrepreneurial activities due to their significant role in driving change and promoting innovation.
Wide Participation and High-Level Attendance
The forum witnessed the attendance of several governmental, legislative, and international figures concerned with women’s affairs, alongside civil society organizations and a distinguished group of active women and advocates in the fields of women’s rights and minority rights.
This forum reaffirmed the importance of Iraqi women’s role in achieving sustainable development and strengthening their participation across different sectors in order to build a more just and equitable Iraq.
